Returns and Cancellations Policy for the Academic Essay Accelerator Cancellations
Send cancellation requests to jane.malone@polariswriting.com. Cancellation timing is measured from receipt of th request.
Within 48 hours of purchase, before teaching begins: full refund.
After that window, at least seven days before the first lesson: refund less a $50 administrative fee.
Fewer than seven days before the first lesson, but before teaching begins: Polaris Writing service credit less a $50 administrative fee.
Once teaching begins: payments are non-refundable and no standard cancellation credit is offered, except for approved exceptional circumstances or where applicable law requires otherwise.
Missing or arriving late to an individual lesson is not the same as withdrawing from the course. Attendance arrangements are explained in the Terms of Service.
Service credits
Credits expire six months after issue, are non-transferable, and may be applied toward available Polaris Writing services or a future cohort. Availability and any price difference apply. Credits are not redeemable for cash except where required by law.
Exceptional circumstances
A parent or guardian may request an exception where serious illness, hospitalization, bereavement, or a comparable unforeseen family emergency prevents continued participation.
Contact support at jane.malone@polariswriting.com as soon as reasonably practicable and provide a brief explanation. Reasonable supporting information may be requested. Please do not send detailed medical records unless specifically requested.
Polaris Writing may offer prorated credit or, exceptionally, a prorated refund for remaining undelivered lessons, less a $50 administrative fee where permitted. Lessons delivered before notice is received are normally excluded, whether or not the student attended. Where an emergency prevented prompt notice, Polaris Writing may consider the date participation became impossible.
The fee helps offset non-refundable processing and cancellation-related costs. Exceptions are considered individually and do not limit statutory rights.
Cancellations by Polaris Writing
If Polaris Writing cancels an entire cohort before it begins, payments for that cohort will be refunded in full without an administrative deduction.
If an individual lesson cannot proceed because of instructor illness, emergency, or an unforeseen technical problem, Polaris Writing will arrange replacement instruction without additional charge. This may involve rescheduling or a qualified substitute. Families will be notified as soon as reasonably practicable.
Statutory consumer rights
Nothing in this policy excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where applicable law provides a withdrawal or refund entitlement, it takes precedence over the standard policy.
Eligible consumers may have a statutory withdrawal period, generally 14 days from the conclusion of a service contract. A request to begin teaching during that period may permit a proportionate charge for services already provided, subject to the required disclosures and consent. No administrative deduction applies where prohibited by law.

Camera participation
Cameras are expected during discussions and interactive activities. Blurred or virtual backgrounds are welcome.
Contact support at jane.malone@polariswriting.com privately to arrange an appropriate alternative for an access, privacy, anxiety, or technical concern.
Participant recording and sharing
Participants must not record, photograph, or redistribute other participants’ images, voices, or work without permission.
Attendance and missed lessons
Students are expected to attend each lesson at the scheduled time. Lessons begin and end as scheduled; late arrival does not extend the session.
Student absence does not create an entitlement to a refund, credit, or separate private makeup lesson. Live lessons are not recorded.
Students who miss a lesson remain responsible for reviewing the provided materials and completing assigned work. Absence does not include a replacement lesson, individual catch-up instruction, or additional feedback beyond the course’s stated inclusions.
Please notify jane.malone@polariswriting.com of an anticipated absence as soon as possible. Serious unforeseen circumstances may be considered under the exceptional-circumstances provisions of the Returns and Cancellations Policy.
Communication and email support
Students and authorized family contacts may email course-related questions to jane.malone@polariswriting.com .
Responses are provided Monday–Friday within 24 hours. Messages received outside those days receive a response by the end of the next business day.
Email support is available during the course. It does not include immediate assistance, unlimited essay reviews, or additional private instruction unless separately agreed.
Course materials and permitted use
Students may retain and use the materials provided to them by Polaris Writing, including emailed and downloadable resources, indefinitely for their own learning.
Students should download and save copies of any resources they wish to keep. This permission does not guarantee permanent access to a website, shared folder, or delivery platform.
Materials are provided for personal educational use. They must not be sold, publicly posted, redistributed, or used to deliver another course without prior written permission from Polaris Writing.
Students retain ownership of their original writing. Permission to participate in the course does not authorize Polaris Writing to publish that work.
Academic integrity
Students must submit their own original work.
The timed diagnostic must be completed independently, without AI-generated content, AI-assisted rewriting, or outside assistance. It is a diagnostic exercise, not a graded assignment.
Independent course assignments must also be completed without AI or outside assistance unless the instructor expressly authorizes a particular tool or type of support. Approved accessibility arrangements may be agreed with the instructor.
When using sources in later assignments, students must acknowledge them as instructed. The instructor may ask students to explain their ideas or writing process to confirm understanding.
Polaris Writing provides teaching and feedback; it does not complete students’ school assignments or assessments for them.
